Winter in Rasteau - 25th January 2017

Magnus, dressed for the occasion in his fleece and vibram soled boots. He is showing a little shaved leg as a result of his operation, but walking very well.

Winter came late to Rasteau, but the snows finally arrived, if only lasting a few days.

Since, we arrived in Rasteau, we have enjoyed mostly dry, bright days. However, as Autumn gave way to Winter, the Mistral (strong winds) became more apparent. The bitter winds can easily reach in excess of 30kph, but at this time of year the effect is bitter with a wind chill factor dropping temperatures by at least 5 degrees. So when the temperature is around 2degC, it feels like minus 3degC, but it actually feels far worse as the winds penetrate in between the gaps in your clothes.
