Northern Higashiyami
Running to the east of Kyoto is a range of mountains, known as the Higashiyami. By taking the Kyoto Metro to Keage station and then walking north, it makes a nice day trip to see some of the best shrines and gardens in Kyoto. There is a lot to see and unfortunately, have taken many photos and on returning to them, could not remember where each was taken. So this album is the best of them. (Click on second page to see the second set)
Along the way, we took in Konchi-in, Nanzen-ji, Kotoku-an, Nanzin-Ji Oku-no-indo, Hinodo Udon (where we ate some local noodle dishes), the Path of Philosphy, Honen-in, and Ginkaku-ji (covered on a separate section)
