Bergerac

Bergerac's most famous personage is Cyrano de Bergerac, fictional character from the eponymous play by Edmond Rostand, famous for his large nose.

Bergerac is a lovely medieval town in the Dordogne region in South West France, through which the Dorgogne River passes. Its main industries are the production of wine and tobacco. Not always mentioned in the tourist sites is that this area is famous for fois gras.

The population is around 27,000 and it popular with British expats. So much so, that a local college offer free French language lessons to help with integration.

The old part of the city is very photogenic and we benefitted from visiiting on a very sunny day. The pictures speak for themselves.
